New Icons for Old: The Mythic & the Modern in the Art of Gogi Saroj Pal

Against the backdrop of the artist's ongoing second retrospective, in conversation with Kishore Singh, SVP, DAG, would be curator and historian Roobina Karode and feminist writer Urvashi Butalia on New Icons for Old: The Mythic & the Modern in the Art of Gogi Saroj Pal where they will survey the artist's transformation of traditional iconography. 

This talk is in correspondence with our ongoing exhibition, Gogi Saroj Pal: Mythic Femininities, that celebrates the humanitarianism of India's pioneering feminist painter who lit up the visual arts world with her paintings depicting a host of endearing female protagonists that she created in her studio across an extraordinary six-decade long career.
